THE PUZZLE

Updated: Sep 23

God's hand completing the puzzle of a Christian life
“Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” -- James 1:4

Reflection

Have you ever thought of the Christian life as a puzzle? Each of us is a piece—unique in shape, color, and design—created to fit perfectly into the picture God has drawn.

When we look at a puzzle in progress, it’s hard to imagine how the scattered pieces will come together. Some fit quickly; others are set aside for a season. In the same way, we often wonder where we belong—or why God seems to place others before us. Yet the puzzle cannot be complete without every single piece.

Some pieces stand out immediately. Like the border of a puzzle, pastors, teachers, and evangelists give structure to the whole. Others blend quietly into the background, but they are no less vital. Without them, the beauty of the picture would be incomplete.

Still, waiting to be placed can be difficult. Some days it feels as if God has passed us over. Other days we may try to “force ourselves” into places where we don’t belong. But true peace comes when we trust the Master’s hand, believing He knows exactly where and when we fit.

Our perspective is limited—we only see the pieces around us. God alone sees the finished picture. And His promise is sure: He will complete the work He has begun (Philippians 1:6).

So let us persevere. Let us embrace the waiting, the learning, the slow unfolding of His design. And let us rest in this unshakable truth:

God finishes the puzzle.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for making me a unique piece of Your design. Help me wait patiently for Your timing, connect faithfully with those around me, and trust that You are completing the picture of Your Kingdom. Keep me from forcing myself into places I don’t belong, and teach me to rest in the assurance that You always finish the work You start. Amen.
