CHRISTIANITY AND THE HOMELESS

Updated: 7 hours ago

God commands us to care for these people -- to feed, clothe, and shelter them with dignity.

Christianity and the Homeless is a humanity issue, but I think we've not addressed their shelter needs, though we feed and clothe them.

The homeless camps we see in our cities are a cry for help—a cry most people ignore. Some embrace the lifestyle, but many are there because of lost jobs, untreated addictions, mental illness, or simply falling through the cracks of a system that failed them. Some even work, but can’t make enough to afford housing.

It’s heartbreaking. It’s pitiful. And still, we just scroll past the images on our phones, glad it isn’t us. But God commands us to care for these people—to feed, clothe, and shelter them with dignity.

Meanwhile, today's Democrats have managed to house illegal immigrants in hotels, providing food, healthcare, and benefits, while American citizens sleep on sidewalks. Why can’t that same care be shown to our own?

President Trump recently cleared homeless encampments in D.C. Critics called it cruel, but the truth is shelters already exist—and clearing the camps forces action, not neglect. He’s willing to help, but someone has to ask. Imagine if we offered homeless individuals a hotel room for six months, tied to finding employment and transitioning to permanent housing. That’s dignity, and that’s a solution.

Today's Democrats and the media would rather complain than fix, because outrage gets attention. But complaining doesn’t clothe the homeless, and noise doesn’t house them. Someone has to step up and start somewhere.

What do you think—are we going to sit around, or do something about it?

Thank you for reading! This blog exists to bring biblical clarity to the stories shaping our world. If you’ve been encouraged, share this post with someone who needs truth and hope today. Together, let’s stand firm in Christ—where faith meets the front page. These are my thoughts. What are yours?
